Parent Connection
Research consistently shows that children whose parents are involved in their schools do better.
Studies show that parent attitudes and actions have a positive effect on their children’s academic success, and it has been consistently reported that children with parents involved in their education and schools earn better grades, score higher on tests, and much more.
The reasons that parent involvement increases student success are many—in itself, simply letting a child know you care and are invested enough to be involved in his day-to-day school life sends a clear message about the value of school and education.
We encourage you to volunteer and dedicate your time and talents – here are some ways you can get involved:
Volunteering is a way to meet new people, build our Saint Rose School community, and set an example of service for our children. Without our dedicated volunteers, the Home & School Association would not be able to provide the programs and funds that help enrich the school experience for our children beyond what tuition alone can provide. Please read the descriptions below and fill out the attached volunteer sign up form. Volunteer names will be forwarded to the appropriate chairperson, coordinator, and/or teacher. He/she will contact you directly. Reminder: All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained and BCI fingerprinted. If you have not attended this important training, please check the church bulletin for available dates and locations.
The best way to find out all our volunteer opportunities is to call the office at 330-545-1163 or email the school at stroseelem@youngstowndiocese.org. Even giving a few hours during the school year can make an impression on your child.
