Announcements & reminders:

Each student should have a Reading Notebook.

We are starting a Poetry unit in each grade. Students will have a final product they will be working on for the next few weeks. The student’s grade will be reduced for missing pages and/or if i have to make additional copies.

Wednesday, January 3rd – In each class we discussed our upcoming poetry unit. We discussed the poetry books we will be making and we started a Biographical Formatted Poem.

Thursday, January 4th – In each class we discussed our upcoming poetry unit. We discussed the poetry books we will be making and we started an I Am Poem. Most classes also read the poem Paul Revere’s Ride by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Friday, January 5th – no school

Monday, January 8th – no school

Tuesday, January 9th – The students reread the poem Paul Revere’s Ride by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and answered questions about the poem. Students received a new poem format called Look In The Mirror. Poetry will be checked tomorrow. I will be checking to make sure all 3 prior poems handed out are ready to be typed.

Wednesday, January 10th – The students went over their answers to the Paul Revere’s Ride poem and they started formatting their poems in Google Docs.

Thursday, January 11th – The students received a new poem format called Opposite Poetry. We also read the poem O Captain! My Captain! and started answering questions about the poem.

Friday, January 12th – No School
